Animal Housing & Nest Boxes With Cam's |

All animal Housing and Nest Boxes are made of 6mm & 12mm Marine Ply fitted with a camera that has 1 Audio 1 Video & 1 Power connections but a scart adapter is also included so the customer has a choice of using the phono or scart connections for most types of devices such as a Computers, TV & Video recorder etc. The Blue tit, Great tit & Robin nest boxes are made up using 100% 12mm Top Grade Marine Ply and I use waterproof PVA glue and screws or nails on all permanent fixed joints. The box below is the size I use for Blue Tits but the same design is also used for larger birds such as the Great Tit, the Great Tit Box has a larger entrance hole and the box its self is larger than the blue Tit box. The Robin nest box does not have an entrance hole and is the same size box as the Great Tit Box but the entrance hole is oblong in shape and runs across the front from side to side. The most popular nest box is the Blue Tit box, over the past 8 years I have been making and using my own hand made nest boxes that have been tried and tested so the boxes I am making now are from the past results from previous boxes. There are all types of Nest boxes made mainly for the Robin, Blue Tit or Great Tits but most are to shallow or the entrance hole is not the right size. I have found through experience that putting the entrance hole in the right place and making the entrance holes a certain size makes all the difference to the Nest Box being used and the safety of the birds that are using the nest boxes. The distance between the centre of the entrance hole and the base of the box is essential when helping to prevent predators such as a cat or a magpie from trying to get the boxes inhabitants when the nest box is in use. Unfortunately in the case of the robin the entrance is not the main concern it is more of a concern to ware the box is located. I was recently in my local supermarket and on sale were some nets boxes with cams that looked quite good on the packaging but that's all they were it was quite obvious these Boxes were just another mass produced box made for profit with no thought to the welfare of the birds nesting in them.
